Your two-day desert tour from Marrakesh to Zagora departs from your hotel or riad early in the morning (around 07:30). First, you will drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 metres alt) and pass through different Berber villages on the way. You will be stopped at various stops along the way to enjoy the scenery, take photos, or sip a cup of mint tea and stretch your legs.
Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, enjoy a short visit to this World Heritage Site that was previously used as a filming location for several Hollywood epics such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. We will organize a 1 hour village visit at leisure with a local guide.
After lunch at leisure in either Kasbah Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate, you’ll drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, the Berber village of Agdiz, and the Draa Valley, home to hundreds of thousands of palm trees. The Draa Valley is considered the most important palm plantation in Morocco.
Arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon to prepare for your camel trek over the Zagora Desert and watch the spectacular sunset before driving your camel back to your Zagora Desert camp for a Moroccan dinner with drums and entertainment under the stars.
After rising early to ride a camel, watch the sunrise over the horizon, and eat a Moroccan breakfast, set off for Ouarzazate, where you can visit Kasbah Taourirt before lunch at your leisure, then continue back to Marrakesh via the Tizi-Nichka pass.
You will return to your hotel or riad in Marrakesh in the late afternoon.
